I’ve picked 3 of my favourite properties in Drake Bay to offer accomodations for my guests. All are located on the same village road within a 4 minute walk maximum of the beach..and each other. Each property has its own unique charms and I will highlight those for you below.

Miriams Guest House
Miriams Guest House is in the middle of the three properties in a perfect location just in front of the supermarket with a 3 minute walk to the town or 2 minute walk to the beach.
A beautiful and small, lush property lined with bursting plants and little porches with hammocks. I spent many a visit here enjoying my time in Drake.
Each room is a little different and has real walls, screens and is more typical of what Canadians would expect. Clean, bright and spacious. Each until comes with its own hammock and sitting area in front of the unit. Beds can be queen, king or double depending on the room. Air conditioning is offered along with private bathrooms with hot water. A small shared kitchen is located at the rear of the property .
A perfect choice for those needing their own bathroom, 4 walls and AC option. Some birds and wildlife but not as wild as Mohagine up the road.

Mirador Sunset Bungalows
Mirador Sunset Cabins was a property I didn’t discover until my latest trip to Drake. Perched on the cliffs directly above the beach..and my home is a wonderful collection of cabins with wonderful Sunset views. Drake Bay doesn’t have a perfect view of the descending fireball most of the year but perched high you can see over Corcovado for dreamy views. From the road it is a tiny steep driveway the descends into the jungle..which is why it took so long for me to find!
For those who don’t mind a bit of a daily hike the cabins are beautiful. modern and come with their own seating areas. Mornings and sunsets are one of the best times to spot the gorgeous Toucans and they sing in the nearby trees. If you climb the paths to the very top, there is a large covered deck (which we will visit) with the best views of all.
With the steep climb to the property, you will be helped with your luggage on arrival. Concrete fashioned stairs lead to most areas of the property but everything is on a hill. The price for a perfect view of the sunset lol

Rancho Corcovado – Beachfront
Located right on the stunning Playa Colorada with a steep trail that leads directly into the heart of the village, Rancho Corcovado ticks the boxes for most travellers.
A beautiful property with mature trees and cabins spread throughout the property, some with spectacular views of tree tops and the birds there. The rooms are bright, clean and spacious and most offer balconies to enjoy. Big beds, hot water and a wonderful kitchen staff make you feel right at home. Those that choose this property will also have their daily breakfast on site.
Daily swims and beach walks are easy given its amazing location. Use of their beach loungers and outdoor showers is also included.

How to get to Drake Bay
How do I get there ?
Depending on where you are coming from there are many options!
Getting to Costa Rica
Depending on where you are coming from, Costa Rica is most easily accessible by commercial airplane for most of my clients. Many carriers fly direct into the country or you can catch a connecting flight to save money.Getting to Drake Bay
Drake Bay is located in the very South Pacific on Costa Rica, only a few hours from Panama. Depending on how quickly you want to arrive, there are quite a few options. Let me know if you need help arranging your transport from Drake Bay.
By Air: Drake Bay is served by a small airport and can be reached directly from either of the international airports or many cities in Costa Rica! Small carriers come & go but the national airline Sansa is always there. This small hopper plans takes only appx 35 minutes over rugged, spectacular coastline to reach us.
By Car: Rent a 4×4 and prepare for a crazy adventure. The road from San Jose down to the coast and along the pacific highwy is decent and will take you appx 6-7 hours. The drive from Palmar Northe requires a 4 x 4 and can flooded out. You may also park the car at Sierpe and take the boat in as below.
By Bus: Grab a bus from the San Jose trapoca station for an affordable and easy way to the coast. These large greyhound type buses will take you as far as Palmar Northe or Sierpe.
By Boat: Do like the locals and take the River Taxis from the town of Sierpe up the river and over to our main beach! they will drop you off minutes from your accommodations.
